#45: More on Creole and its Role in Haitian Society (fwd)

From: Max Blanchet <MaxBlanchet@worldnet.att.net>

Mr. Jean Généus of the Ministry of Haitians

Living Abroad (MHAVE in French) has been in the news recently.

On April 29, 1999, he wrote a nice letter

to Haitians in the diaspora inviting them to

join forces with the Government and the people

of Haiti in the task of rebuilding Haiti.

A nice letter that appeared only in French on the

Washington Embassy site as well as Agence Haïtienne de

Presse's site.

Out of deference to the majority of our compatriots who

speak only Creole, could the Minister not have published

a Creole version of that most important letter?

Angle ekri, Angle konprann!
