a1002: re: a999 ditto on Pina (fwd)

From: JHUDICOURTB@aol.com

Re post a972, I have to protest that Kevin Pina's message was placed on the
list after he writes:

"As with the sudden departures of Bob Manuel, Leon Manus, Olivier Nadal and
countless others whose net effect creates the image of dictator currently
being nailed to Aristide, it seems a matter of time before Mr. Guyler C.
Delva joins their auspicious ranks."

Since mr. Pina so often vouches for the greatness of the current government
of Haiti he should be vouching for the safety of Mr. Guyler Delva in Haiti.
He should be telling us that all these people who left the country because
they fear for their personal safety and the safety of their family have
nothing to worry about. Isn't it true that in a democracy differences of
opinion are just that, differences of opinion. Why are government
personalities in Haiti so affraid of descent and counter-propaganda? The
spreading of rumors is just part of life, and those who take public posts
must be ready to endure criticism whether the rumors are well founded or not.
I don't see anything wrong with the type of journalism practiced in Haiti,
except that there is not enough news. The reporting of the rice scandal is
one example of what SHOULD be going on in news reports on Haiti. We want
more.
We diaspora people want to know why we pay so much at the airport every time
we travel, and find that Mais-Gate is so dirty that you can find your
carousel at JFK or MIA by the amount of dust on the suitcases arriving. We
can't we have a nice airport for the amount of money we pay there? We would
like the Haitian media to tell us where that airport tax money goes. We are
sick of hearing every other day that there is a crisis and that Luigi Enaudi
is visiting. By the way, does Mr. Enaudi pay U$30 every time he leaves? If
he does he practically owns that airport now. Is Mr. Pina tax exempt because
he is a FOT (friend of Titid) ? Now that we have the story about Diri, we
want the story on the Airport Taxes. As a journalist, can Mr. Pina inquire
for us?
