a1269: NCHR National Conference: Registration Information (fwd)

From: Dina Paul Parks <DPParks@nchr.org>

As many of you hopefully have heard, the National Coalition for Haitian
Rights will be hosting its first national conference, "Developing a National
Haitian-American Agenda: Moving Forward Together", April 12-14 in Miami.
Pulling together a number of expectional leaders in the Haitian-American
community, including Rep. Marie St. Fleur (MA) and Rep. Phillip Brutus (FL)
as the National Co-Chairs and North Miami Mayor Joe Celestin as the Host,
the conference is meant to jumpstart a long-overdue national community
empowerment conversation among Haitian-Americans in the Diaspora. Although
the main focus of the conference is clearly domestic, we felt that this
gathering would be incomplete if we did not devote at least a portion of the
program to current realities in Haiti. The speakers in the "Spotlight on
Haiti" section include Michele Montas, Paul Latortue, either Dan Santos or
Patrick Murphy from the US Sate Department and someone from the OAS.

We intend this gathering to be a spectacular, don't-miss event and hope to
see many of you there. For complete conference program details and
registration information, please visit our website, www.nchr.org, or call
212-337-0005, x 13. Thank you.
