PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti, April 26 (Reuters) - Flooding in Haiti killed
four people and forced as many as 200 to leave their homes after two days
of torrential rains hit the capital, officials said on Friday.
Yolanda Surena, head of the government's Civil Protection service,
said two districts of Port-au-Prince were especially badly affected.
Details of how the deaths were caused were not available.
"(The flood) was just sweeping everything down the road," said Billy
Frere, of the capital's Cite Soleil district. "It was coming through the
roof onto my wife and daughter."
Houses in Port-au-Prince's seaside slums often consist of precariously
nailed-together wooden boards with zinc sheets spread overhead.
