12014: Is the IRI getting the bang for its bucks in Haiti? (fwd)

Is it not as clear as the water from a good Haitian coconut that the
International Republican Institute (IRI) is wasting its money on its
activities on/in Haiti? Those "several Haitian groups" ended up gathering
less than 150 folks in front of the United Nations last Friday. By the way,
could not they do better than a megaphone? Time after time the IRI
assembles some of our professional politicians to form what it takes the
sadistic pleasure of calling "an honest opposition in Haiti." And the
result is always the same: the establishment of a welfare state for lazy
Haitian intellectuals "too proud to work and not disposed to go into
commerce" (Frederick Douglas).
Would it not be better to spend your bucks educating Haitian children giving
a chance to the future of Haiti?
