 That figure is simply a lie.  Participants in the pro-Aristide demo
 guessed their numbers at 500 to 800 Lavalas supporters, while the
 anti-Aristide demonstration numbered from 100 to 150 participants.  I
 cannot but echo the sentiment that it is scandalous to spent so much
 money chartering planes, renting fancy hotels and paying the expenses of
 traveling Lavalas party members with government funds, when there is no
 money to buy syringes for the public hospital in P-au-P.  More foreign
 loans for Haiti mean more money for the government to waste.
