The so called "little" organisation is in fact a haitian business
association called ANADIPP - Association Nationale des Produits
Petroliers.Members of this association are most of the owners of the gas
stations in Haiti distributing gas for SHELL ,TEXACO, ELF,ESSO. Some of the
gas stations belong to the petroleum companies, some belong to private
individuals.

The oil has always been controlled by the haitian government since they are
the one who are fixing the selling price.

Two years ago, then Minister of Economics Fred Joseph, tried to reduced the
distributors 'margin . ANADIPP was threatened by Minister Fred.ANADIPP at
that time decided to go on strike and close their stations in front of the
Lavalas threats .What the Preval government did is to send the chimeres in
and threatened to burn some gas stations.ANADIPP was then force to negociate
with the government. The price of gasoline in Haiti is very high. Two third
of the price goes into the pocket of the haitian government. Now when you
drive on the haitian roads , you feel the pain in your spine and you are
often asking yourself ,where go the money and the taxes that we all pay to
fix those roads.Normally in a country where you have a responsible
government, some of the taxes that you pay to buy gasoline should be used to
fix roads.

But in Haiti,on the contrary, this money is used to buy luxury cars, buy and
build luxury homes and increase bank accounts for our so called haitian"
congressmen" and all the Lavalas Family as well .This money is also used to
buy the cooperation and the silence of foreign officials from the Caricom
and around Latin America (OAS) to let the Lavalas in power , and recognize
the so called legitimacy of Jean Bertrand Aristide. On the way too,it
maybe it used to buy few paintings ,who knows?
