i will not go into a long discussion about this person's belief about
aristide's popularity.  suffice is to say that i respectfully disagree

now in making the comment that aristide should request that the
constitution be
ammended to allow him another term, then present himself as candidate
again,
this person shows their extensive knowledge of the law in general and the
haitian constitution in particular.  article 284-2 of the constitution
1987
states that an ammendment only becomes official after the installation of
the
next elected president. in no way may a sitting president benefit from an
ammendment passed during his term.
