I believe this is a traditional Vodou song, in Creole.  A friend confirms
this for me.  Also, Marie-Jose Alcide includes the song in her 1988
dissertation on Vodou and theater (well before the Boukman recording).
She claims she collected it in Haiti during a mare paket (a type of
ritual).
