13192: Poincy: Re: 13189: Nadal replies to Hoover (fwd) : Poincy comments (fwd)

From: "[iso-8859-1] Jean Poincy" <caineve@yahoo.fr>

It is very Ayitian to be complacent, discharge
themselves of their private duties and make the
government responsible for their well being.

I believe that the garbage problem would remain even
if the government put in place a system capable to
resolve it. Most Ayitians are quite satisfied with
whatever that enables them to make it through the day.

They don't grasp the concept of doing it for
themselves. Walking through garbage, cooking and
eating on a garbage pile represent no harms to them as
long as being there allows them to go about their
business and eat to fight their hunger.

In fact they could organize themselves to take care of
it without the government taking part in it. It's
feasible and can be done in any society. It's a matter
of good will to live in a good environment and
effective coordination. However, the lack of
imagination or creativity makes it impossible as they
rely only on the government.

Ayiti has lived, lives and will live
Mozeb
