Did he (Lindor) "sympathize" with the democratic convergence or did he call
for the removal of the president and all of Lavalas? Was he using the power
of the press, or whatever media in which he was a journalist, to advocate the
overthrow of the government? Was he a convenient scapegoat, in retaliation
for the killing of a Lavalas supporter? It seems that you have convinced
yourself that freedom of expression eliminates the need for common sense and
responsibility to follow rules of law. Advocating the overthrow of a
government is treason.

If you have a wound on your leg, would you advocate cutting off the leg? No,
you would treat the wound until it healed. Hold the government accountable
for corruption committed but do not try to remove those elected by the
people. Even the ones you believe made it into office by doubtful methods.
Let it go.....let them finish and then when the new elections are
held.....ACCEPT them. Chances are, if the opposition parties don't get busy
and see what the people want and start campaigning on a positive platform
(instead of the constant and monotonous anti-Aristide platform!), Lavalas or
another populist party will win by huge margins again. And the whining and
gnashing of teeth of thousands will start anew.
