Does anyone on Corbett know?
Cigouave:  This is the "Beast of the Haitian Hills" and also the beast in
the
documentary of Saint Soliel of 1972.
I have not found the word in French dictionaries or encyclopedias, nor in
any
of the Kreyol dictionaries I have. (Where it would have been sigwav, I
believe.)

Is this a Taino word?
