14014: Simidor: adieux a du Tuyau (fwd)

From: Daniel Simidor <karioka9@mail.arczip.com>

Usually I make an effort to answer most challenges on this list.
In the case of du Tuyau's recent diatribes, however, there is
really nothing to say. His most recent offerings are a
regurgitation of racist and anti-communist cliches that were once
the hallmark of Duvalierism. The hybrid image that he conjures, of
an irrational revolutionary who wants to destroy everything
(irrational by virtue of being black), and who also happens to be
a secret Convergence mouthpiece, speaks more of character
assassination than of anything else. Du Tuyau appears to have run
out of argument to explain why people and civil society in Haiti
should remain idle, like the proverbial "good Germans," while
Aristide and his goons build their perfect little fascist state.
Typically when people run out of argument, they resort to
provocation and lies. How sad that our conversation should end on
such sour note. Goodbye, du Tuyau; one of your acabit ought not
to have clogged so easily.

On a different subject. Bêtise et mauvaise foi du siècle: one
so-called Lavalas think tank takes pride in blaming the youth and
student demonstrators in Petit-Goave and Port-au-Prince for the
vicious police and Lavalas attacks that were launched against
them. The justification for those attacks? The students had
lowered the Haitian flag at half- mast. Which is sufficient
proof, according to this logique de la déraison, that the students
were being manipulated by occult forces (Convergence, the
"Laboratory," etc). It is the same brilliant "logic" that the
president displayed recently aux Cayes, and which Radio Metropole
identified mistakenly as class analysis.
