14058: Kathy S. Grey Re: 14046: Chamberlain and Pina on Gerald Khawly (fwd)

From: Racine125@aol.com

<< I did not know Mr Khawly or anything about him,
but I've been sent a different description of him that I thought would be
of interest to the group, as follows:>>

So, you don't know him, you don't know anything about him, but you are
repeating unprovable defamatory comments anyhow?

<<Gérald Khawly was a big godfather in the drug trafficking, everybody knew
 that.>>

Everyone knew the world was flat, too.

<<He owned a fortress-like villa on the Raymond-les-Bains,
outrageous-looking, extravagant. But he was rarely there.>>

I've been to his house in Raymond-les-Bains mroe than once, and I did not
find it fortress-like, outrageous-looking, or extravagant. I found it very
pleasant, and appropriate to a wealthy man who wished to share his good
fortune with his friends.

<<He then became the business partner of Michel Francois in Jacmel... he has
been close to Aristide>>

Everybody likes him, huh? Look, I'm no friend of drug dealers and coup
plotters, but I do think it is in very poor taste to publish this kind of
stuff without proof, especially following his death.

Now, Pina says:

<< The one major point that has been left out of the press about Khawly's
killing is that it has been confirmed he was among the few gas station owners
who ignored ANADIPP's participation in the Convergence lead general strike on
December 4.>>

So he could have been killed by rightists, leftists, drug dealers, or a
gas-station owners' cartel, I guess. I bet we never find out.

Sincerely,

Kathy S. Grey
