Haiti at the XX Festival International Havana Jazz
Plaza 2002

Havana, Cuba-09 -12 -2002 (Noticias de Cuba) The Cuban
capital will become the site of one of the greatest
jazz parties in the world from the 11 to 15 December
2002,  with the XX  Havana International Jazz
Festival.

As in the past, this year's festival will be presided
by the Master Chucho Valdés, the world renowned and
presitgious pianist.   Mr. Valdes is classified as one
the best in the world of jazz.

Frank Emilio and Emiliano Savior, two of the most
famous  Cuban jazz interpreters   will be honored this
year.

Haiti's participation

Held at some of the best venues in the Caribbean -
Amadeo Roldán Theater, National Theater, Mella and
Karl Marx, as well as the Room of the National Museum
of Arts and La Casa de la Cultura, this year's event
will feature for the first time two of the best
Haitian artists.  Emeline Michel (Saturday Dec. 14,
2002 at La Casa de la Cultura)   Mozayik  (Sunday Dec.
15, 2002 at the National Theatre) will both make the
trip to Havana to be among some of the best in the
world. The Haitian presence is made possible by
Haiti's ministries of  Culture/Communications, Tourism
and Haitians Living Abroad.

Italy; Manerbio Jazz Ensemble, of Italy, ; Arturo OR'
farrill Trío-USES- (son of Boy OR' Farril); Berklee
College of Music - Bobby Sanabria.
