An attempted robbery Monday has left a man at the Princess Margaret Hospital
recuperating from a gunshot wound.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Reginald Ferguson, at about
5:30 a.m., Timberre Rifin woke up and was walking to his outhouse, near Lily
of the Valley corner, when he was approached by two masked men.

The gunmen demanded cash from Rifin, and one of them shot Mr. Rifin in the
left thigh.

After the men escaped, Mr. Rifin was taken to hospital, where he remains in
stable condition.

"The doctors say that he is should recover smoothly. They say that his
current condition is not life threatening," said Asst. Comm. Ferguson.
