I am so happy to see you do this!  We have known this for years but after
the
special by Jacque Causteau (can't remember how to spell it) on the
deforestation of Haiti, they want to blame the current charcoal people --
the
charcoal people take very good care of their trees, only trimming branches
in
rotation -- it is their livelihood.  The major damage was done years and
years
ago -- in all of the islands -- and primarily by US and Europe who
promised to
replant the hardwood they stripped and did not.

Corbett adds:  The Costeau documentary of 1986 is called WATERS OF SORROW.

It's an important document on deforestation.
