admittedly, i was not quoting word-for-word from mr jay's post but capturing
(i think) one of its implications.  2 intelligent people who know little
haiti very well found it objectionable (if not offensive), so either they are
both mistaken or there was something upsetting in mr jay's post, which seemed
to suggest that there are reasons to avoid little haiti and, for one
possibility, to go to hialeah instead.  so while he might not have said
literally "why go to little haiti", i for one took him to imply as much.  if
i am mistaken in that, i apologize... duly in fact...

but please, if we can only respond to posts and engage in debates by quoting
things word-for-word, as mr jay insists, then i should desist from writing on
this list altogether, for i cannot be so anal retentive.  this is dialogue,
afterall, and not academic publishing...

that is all... i was just agreeing with ms hermantin in her reaction to mr
jay's post.  i do not save any posts, so i cannot quote mr jay exactly.
nothing "amazing" about that.  i am just trying to provide some context to
the issue at hand and lend some support to someone with whom i agree on a
particular issue.  perhaps that is what mr jay finds "amazing", to quote him
directly.

and for the record, people who care about little haiti have been trying for
years to draw tourists and anyone else to the neighborhood.  you would all be
welcome, so please skip hialeah and come to little haiti.
