Roger Savain Haitian Kreyol Book Presentation, Broward County (FL) Main
Library, May 11, 2003

Language EXPERIENCE, Inc. announces the publication of TÈTANSANM, a selection
of articles Roger E. Savain has written in Haitian Kreyol, between January
2000 and December 2002. These articles were published every Wednesday in the
column "Tèt Ansanm" -- Heads Together -- of The Haitian Times, a weekly
newspaper published in Brooklyn, N.Y., primarily for the Haitian community.

Jean Dona Darius, a scholar creolist, has selected 62 articles from the 154
written by Savain during those three years, and has grouped them under the
following 5 topics:

1. Ti koze sou lang kreyòl ayisyen
2. Istwa ak Tradisyon pèp ayisyen
3. Ki chemen pou Ayiti?
4. Ekriven ayisyen: pase, prezan, ànonnim
5. Pawòl pou refleksyon

"The idea of the selection and classification of these articles came from
reading week after week the variety of topics Mr. Savain developed in his
column", Darius explains. "They often bring to mind the opportunity to
reflect on questions that may seem distant in past history or away from the
motherland, but that are still part of today's reality here and at home."

"Because the same theme was discussed more than once, twice or more times
during the past three years, but with different approaches, it was
interesting to group some of them together regardless of the time of their
writing. This compilation of Roger E. Savain's articles makes deserving
reading for high school students of Haitian descent and other curious Haitian
Kreyol readers."

The book will be presented at a cultural gathering on the 6th floor of the
Broward County Main Library, Sunday, May 11, 2003, from 6:00 to 8:30 P.M.
