Resignation of the Director General of the police
Posted the Sunday 22 June 2003 by Gotson Pierre
P-au-P. June 22 03 [AlterPresse]--- The Director General by interim of the
national police of Haiti, Jean-Robert Faveur, resigned this June 21, less
than one month after his nomination. The radio station Radio Kiskeya
announced this, this Sunday.
Informed by some reliable sources, the radio indicated that Jean Robert
Faveur would have taken refuge in a foreign embassy or would be already
abroad.
The resignation of Jean-Robert Faveur, who was nominated last June 6, is
motivated by undo influence and pressure imposed by the Executive power on
the police institution and the failure to respect regulations.
The Director General of the police has undergone strong pressures to sign
orders of promotions and transfers that are contrary to the rules and
regulations of the institution. The national palace has imposed members of
his cabinet. And they did not allow him the right to signing on accounts of
the National Police.
