Seminar on writing for Haitian women

Women Writers of Haitian Descent, the Multicultural Women's Press and the
Florida Center for the Literary Arts will host a one-day writing workshop
for Haitian women from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Miami-Dade College,
Wolfson Campus, Bldg. 7, Room 7107.

The event will allow Haitian women interested in writing, whether in the
form of personal journals or published works, a chance to learn about the
publishing world and get advice from their peers and established authors.

The keynote presenter will be Maude Heurtelou, the author of two novels,
Lafamni Bonplezi and Sezisman, and more than 20 children's books written in
Haitian Creole. She will speak on the topic ``The Condition of Being a
Haitian Woman Writer.''
