CERLAC (Centre for Research on Latin America and the Caribbean at York
University) is hosting two events of interest this fall.

First of all, a conference will be held on International Migration in the
Americas (Sept 19-20).  Registration is free, sign up at:

There is one presentation devoted to Haitians in the Dominican Republic.

Secondly, there is a very interesting lecture being held on November 15 by J.
Michael Dash entitled "The Disappearing Island: Haiti, History, and the
