 Has anyone come across a reference in voodoo or possibly in something
 related to the war that included an image of a black and white
 checkerboard pattern (not necessarily a checkerboard, but just the
 alternating black/white square pattern)?  The checkerboard pattern is
 very important to the people of Bali, and I was wondering if it might
 also be symbolic in some way for the Haitians several hundred years ago.
