PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Heavy rains triggered
landslides that killed at least 13 people in Haiti's capital,
Port-au-Prince, government officials said on Monday.
The landslides following several hours of torrential rains on Sunday
night in the mountainous Caribbean nation caused houses to collapse and
buried people in Port-au-Prince.
Thirteen bodies were found in collapsed homes in four neighborhoods --
Bourdon, Turgeau, Pelerin, and Morne l'Hopital -- said the director of
Haiti's Civil Protection Agency, Yolaine Surena. Five other people were
injured and at least nine more were missing in Bourdon, Surena said.
"Rescue teams are continuing to search for the missing in Bourdon,"
she said.
