I am a researcher with the Laffite Society and we found a Certificate of
Residency for Pierre Laffite, the brother of the famous pirate jean
Lafitte. Apparently Pierre lived in Mole St Nicholas, St. Domingue in the
1790's (see the attached). We are trying to determine if Jean Lafitte was
there as well. Can you please give me any ideas you might have about
this...Does Haiti have any records or was all that shipped to France?
