Subject: Randall Robinson of Trans-Africa on What Really Happened to Aristide

March 1, 2004
Monday

Dear Friends,

I just got finished listening, as of approximately 12:22 PM, to an
interview of Randall Robinson of Trans-Africa by Wolf Blitzer of CNN.

Randall Robinson says that Haitian President Aristide, far from voluntarily
resigning the presidency of Haiti as claimed by U.S. officials, tells
Robinson that he, Aristide, and his wife, Mrs. Aristide, were forcibly
abducted by 20 United States soldiers, put onto an airplane, prevented from
putting the shades of the windows of the airplane up, and refused any
answer to the question as to where Mr. and Mrs. Aristide were being taken
by the U.S. soldiers on board the airplane.

Wolf Blitzer during the course of the interview seemed rather apoplectic at
what Randall Robinson was telling him, Blitzer, and constantly asked
Robinson about U.S. officials' claims directly to the contrary of what
Robinson said Aristide was telling him, Robinson.

Robinson was very emphatic, and stuck to his, Robinson's, "guns" in his,
Robinson's, story. Robinson acknowledged the directly contrary nature of
the story Blitzer said U.S. officials were telling Blitzer to the story
Aristide told him, Robinson. Robinson witheringly, sarcastically, and
rather tellingly asked Blitzer if he, Blitzer, thought U.S. officials would
be telling him, Blitzer, anything differently, implying that Blitzer was,
indeed, behaving in a credulous and gullible fashion.

As I've pretty much believed American officials in both capitalist
political parties and all wings of the top officialdom of the government
are a bunch of brazen imperialist liars my entire adult life, what Robinson
said did not shock me a bit.

Robinson also said that Aristide stated, specifically, that he, Aristide,
was the victim of a "coup" carried out by the U.S. government and its
soldiers. Robinson said that Aristide had not intended to leave Haiti and
had not agreed to leave Haiti as U.S. officials are claiming. U.S.
officials are stating Aristide signed a letter to this effect, Blitzer claimed.

But, of course, imperialist liars and thugs are not, in my view, above
forging anything they feel is convenient to forge, and, as Joseph Stalin
once said in regard to his massacre of revolutionary socialist opponents of
Stalin, "Paper will take anything printed on it."

Anyway, I advise anyone reading this to withhold belief in anything being
said by the U.S. government and its spokespeople in this matter. While I
hold no brief for the liberal reformist politics of Aristide -- which, in
my view, indirectly aided and abetted the rightwing Haitian gangsters who,
probably aided and abetted by the U.S. government, just deposted him,
Aristide, in exactly the same way as the reformist liberal and
social-democratic politics of Salvador Allende aided and abetted the
rightwing gangsters who deposed him in 1973 by helping prepare that
bloodbath, again aided and abetted by the U.S. government -- it does,
indeed, appear that the U.S. government were involved in this current armed
rightwing coup d'etat against the Haitian government up to their necks in
exactly the same way they were involved in the 1973 rightwing coup against
Allende in Chile.

No belief in anything the U.S. government says! Absolute mistrust in all
U.S. government spokesmen!

I should additionally add that Aristide says that he was sent after 20
hours of flight to a Central African Republic, and is being held there by a
combined force of French and African soldiers.

This indicates a combined agreement between American capitalist imperialism
and French capitalist imperialism to get Aristide out of Haiti.

So much for those liberal reformist peaceniks who hold that French
imperialism is somehow more "progressive" than bloody U.S.
imperialism. Some of these, like the Coalition for "Free" Thought in
Media, were the very ones who banned me from exercising my "free" speech in
their venue earlier, during last year. Apparently, as I've said before,
real Marxist political criticism, that's to the left of their reformist,
social-democratic, and liberal politics, are criticism they can't stomach,
and respond to by banning and censorship -- in the interests of an agenda
we all know, that of getting a Democrat elected president in the US in
2004, just as in 2003 they preferred the rightwing, social program-slashing
Democratic governor to the rightwing, social program-slashing Republican
governor who replaced him.

But you can't "fight the right" with Democrats, or, for that matter, with
social democracy and reformism, masquerading, in the case of the guy
instrumental in banning me from Coalition for "Free" Thought in Media, in
fake "Trotskyist" garb.

Best to all,

Allan Greene
