Long before the current violence engulfing Haiti, Brecht Forum,
photographer Tequila Minsky, and Dwa Fanm, a Haitan Women's human rights
organization in Brooklyn organized an event for Sunday March 7 --the eve of
International Women's Day--as a day of acknowledgement and tribute to the
Haitian Woman.

The photo exhibition by photographer Tequila Minsky is entitled Haitian
Women: Portraits of Courage, Fanm Ayisyèn: Poto Mitan. A roundtable
discussion will be moderated by Baruch professor Carolle Charles and
literary readings of Haitian women writing in the Diaspora--coordinated by
writer-storyteller-educator Lily Cerat will reflect the realities of women
of Haiti.
