This might prove confusing...
Someone could understand "Lavalas progressives" as Lavalas Party members
trying to make the Party evolve, trying to initiate a change within itself,
and then trying to seek some real change in Haiti, for example...

Someone could here read that Lavalas members seeking Party reformation from
the corrupted tool of a corrupted toon to a real political party looking for
democratic national achievement and not for kleptocratic personal
enrichment, someone could understand THOSE members of Lavalas cannot speak
freely (within or outside the Party or both?).

But the author obviously wants us to believe a Lavalas party member is "per
se" progressive... kind of concept very often if not always used by State
Fascism or Unique Party systems...

Useless to comment here the dogmatic approach and ritualistic psalmody of
the words "progressive".
It is not especially dishonest but it is seriously stupid to believe any
social movement would guarantee his members to be progressive, or would be
progressive itself by its very nature... Kind of hypostatic approach of a
social reality that would perhaps be understandable for a religious
movement, (Church as mystical Body of Christ) but that cannot be preached by
a political movement (at least in a democratic system).

Once again, we see that people supporting Lavalas are familiar with a
doctrine that uses religious fundamentalist concepts to read and promote
political ideology...

A wall in Bas-Delmas still reads an old Lavalas motto: "Baz Wayom Bondye di
Aristid wa pou toutan" ("God's Kingdom" Gang proclaims: Aristide King for
ever).

It is not to be surprised that several paintings looted from Tabarre
Aristide's house show himself in the position or with the attributes
traditionally depicting Christ himself (In Majesty, Ascension, immolated
Lamb for example).
