From: Erzilidanto@aol.com

Haiti Forum at Laney College, Thursday, May 20,

12 noon-1:30 p.m. in the Laney College Forum,

900 Fallon Street, Oakland

On January 1, 2004 the first independent Black nation in the world had its
200th Anniversary. Shortly thereafter, February 29, its first democratically
elected president, Jean-Bertrand Aristide was kidnapped by US Marines.

Join members of the media, labor, and political community: Voleine Amilcar,
Tim Suttle, Dave Welsh, and Maria Gracia, in a discussion of Haiti. What are US
interests in this tiny nation of 8.5 million people? Learn about the Bush
Administration supported regime change headed by Gerard LaTortue, a government
CARICOM (an association of Caribbean nations) refuses to recognize. Find out
more about House Bill 3919, TRUTH or The Responsibility to Uncover the Truth
about Haiti, introduced by the Honorable Barbara Lee and John Conyers.

Panelists are Haitian nationals living in the Bay Area, plus America citizens
who've visited the country within the last year, some as recent as two weeks
ago. Why is there such silence in the corporate media about Haiti? Become
informed. Unravel for yourself the cumulative web of half-truths and outright lies
that has most Americans confused.
