22377: Minsky: Smithsonian Folklife Festival on Haiti starts June 23 (10 days!) (fwd)

The Smithsonian Institution’s Folklife Festival in Washington DC is
focusing on Haiti this year running from June 23-27 and June 30-July 4,
11am -6pm held on  the National Mall between 14th and 7th Streets--between
the Washington Monument and the Capital--near the Smithsonian museums.

A marketplace of 20 Haitian vendors will sell wares near the Freer Gallery.

I'm sure many people from Corbettland are participating/contributing
in some way.

Also in DC--
An exhibition  of Haitian and Diaspora artists working in painting, vodou
arts of sculpture and flag making, video, ceramics, sculpture/mixed media
at: the  Inter-American Development Bank Cultural Center Art Gallery (1300
NY Ave, NW).  The exhibition runs through August 6, 2004, Monday-Friday,
11am-6pm.
