Charles Najman is a remarkable filmmaker whose writing on Haitian questions
contains many shrewd and provocative insights. It is unfortunate that the
account of his activities rendered up by the automatic translation program-
Port-with-Prince, etc.- has reduced the original French text to nonsense. I
would urge Listers to disregard it and if they have an opportunity to see
any of Najman's films to do so and judge for themselves.
