Okay, Kathy Grey has taken it on religious authority in her naming ritual
that
her name should be pronounced--even spelled, if it was written--in a
specific
way. I get that, Kathy, and respect it as well. The person who named you
may
have used an old system of spelling or it wasn't an issue because written
H.C.
was seen as flexible (by some). But there is a conflicting authority at
work
that says Kathy Grey, Guy Antoine, Bob Corbett, Michel DeGraff, and anyone
who
cares about the integrity of Haitian language must spell its words
according to
a new authoritative system that seeks to streamline communication, among
other
things. So we have a conflict in authority, it seems, and you take the
supernatural authority over the human one. If I am getting it right, then
there is no resolution for this argument. I understand your position.
