23369: Harvey: Re: 23347: Esser: Circulation of 'disaster myths' in Haiti could hind er appropriate disposal of bodies (fwd)

From: Sean Harvey <seanharvey@juno.com>

Could someone with medical knowledge verify this? Do or do not mass dead
bodies pose a health risk for the surviving community? We've been hearing
about mass burials for victims of flash floods and mudslides in Haiti and
along the border for the past year -- is this based on bad medical
information? Or do the bodies pose a very real risk of playing host to
 and spreading dangerous infectious diseases?
