The Jakmel Film Festival comes to Miami Beach, beginning with....

The North American premiere of

"Madanm Ti Zo"
A Film by David Belle

Sunday, October 24, 2004
at 8:00 p.m. at
Tap Tap Haitian Restaurant
819 5th Street, Miami Beach, FL

The Director will be present for a discussion after the screening.

"Madanm Ti Zo" (Mrs. Little Bones) is a documentary portrait of a
dynamic peasant healer from Jacmel, Haiti. This extraordinary Haitian
elder runs the equivalent of a rural health clinic from her modest
thatched-roof hut near the Jacmel River.

Humorous, mysterious and insightful, the film offers a rare glimpse
into the traditional life of Haitian peasants, where faith in the
spirit world is central to resolving problems and access to modern
medicine is extremely limited.

Filmed over the course of many months along Haiti's southern coast,
"Madanm Ti Zo" is the second of a six part film series about Haiti's
elders and tradition.

Admission is free but seats are limited, so call to make a reservation
at (305) 672-2898.
