23710: (ask) tonisanon: Ezili Danto question

From: tonisanon@aol.com
----------------------------------------

hi,
i'm writing on a 1965 painting by Andre Pierre entitled "Ezili Danto." i
know
Pierre paints Ezili a lot but this one has lettering at the bottom of her
gown:
"M" "E", "D", "N", all capitalized, the word, "Laytin", and the letters
"gue"
which seems to be revealed part of a longer obscured word (there's tree
branch
in front of her).
i figured out that "m" stands for metres, "e" for ezili ,of course and "d"
for
danto, but i do not know what the "n", "Laytin" nor the partial word,
"gue"
mean.
does anyone on the list have any ideas?

p.s. for those of you who tried to help me find the raoul peck film,
_haitian
corner_thank you very much. i did get to view it, at least and it's
amazing!
thanks in advance,
