23927: Lenoir: (reply) (JUlie Hoover) (John Engle's study costs)

From: Jean Lenoir <tijeanlenoir@yahoo.com>

Julie . . . to a life-long consultant working for a global firm (as you
describe yourself) the $40,000 costs Engle descibes in post 23911 wouldn't
seem
like much. But there are two problems: in Haiti that is the annual income
of
100 people; and post 23911 doesn't tell the whole story.

Visit Engle's website (http://touchstones.org) where you will find his
04-05
budget. The cost is closer to $100,000, 2/3rds of it income items for
Engle and
his wife, not including five all-expense-paid trips back to the US - every
year.

More importantly, all money is precious - especially in Haiti. Whatever
the
amount, it shouldn't be wasted on shallowness.
