HAITIAN DRUMMING WORKSHOPS IN NYC
with Daniel Brevil (direct from Haiti).

Learn traditional Afro-Haitian sacred and folkloric drum rhythms with master
Haitian drummer Daniel Brevil.  Workshops are open to all levels.  Bring your
own drum or percussion instrument; limited drums will also be available for
use.

Workshops will run for 6 weeks and cover traditional Haitian rhythms:
Yanvalou, Kontredans, Nago, Zepol, Mayi, Ibo, and Kongo.

When:   Sundays 4-5:30 P.M.

Daniel Brevil has worked as lead drummer and musical director for some of
Haiti's most acclaimed dance companies such as Artcho/Ayikodans and Tamboula
D'Ayiti.  Brevil has also performed with some of Haiti's reknown musicians such
as, Azor, RAM, Emeline Michel and James Germaine.  He had a featured role in
"Haiti: The Rhythms, The Dances and The Gods" a production starring Danny Glover
at Carnegie Hall.  He recently completed a 3 month tour of the U.K., with a
starring role in the musical production "Vodou Nation".
