24805: Paryski (reply) re: 24804: Binard (ask) re Haitian Acajou wood

"Acajou" is /Swietenia mahagoni" /, introduced to Haiti and naturalized. England and France cut it massively in the 19th century for their fleets. It is a beautiful hardwood used in cabinet making, but is now rapidly being depleted as Haiti is deforested.
