Dear Friend,

RepresentAction is very pleased to announce that Hotel Villa Creole, in
Petionville Haiti, has made a substantial contribution to RepresentAction
by becoming a lifetime corporate Member.

We offer our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the owners and
management of Villa Creole for their forward-looking efforts to support
Haitian Overseas in their efforts to participate constructively in
contributing to Haiti's progress.

Thank you Villa Creole (http://www.villacreole.com). We know how, like most
major corporations in Haiti, you are constantly solicited for assistance
and appreciate at its true value your efforts on behalf of RepresentAction
and its programs. We are humbled by your support and reminded of the caring
oasis created at Villa Creole for so many visitors and Haitians Overseas

RepresentAction
Mission, Objectives & Strategies
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
RepresentAction, Haitians United for Progress, is a volunteer based
non-profit association, forum and special interest advocacy group.

RepresentAction is devoted to research, surveys, analysis, strategic
planning, communications, campaigns and actions designed to promote the
fiscal, legal, economic, and social agendas and rights of Haitians residing
overseas, both within Haiti and within the communities in which they reside
overseas.

It is designed to "represent" the interests of the Haitian communities
overseas by insuring that their objectives are properly understood and
taken into consideration by decision makers in Haiti and in the communities
overseas in which they reside. It is designed to undertake initiatives,
campaigns and "action" to promote the agendas and interests of Haitians,
and persons of Haitian descent and heritage, residing overseas.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Objectives
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::
- Improve the standard of living among our countrymen and women including
better access to health care, education, an equitable justice system, and
dignified work opportunities.

- Articulate the Diaspora’s vision of a national social and political space
that accounts for them as potentially important actors in the nation’s
development.

- Lay the foundation for how Haitians living abroad could and should be
incorporated into the national social, political and economic life of Haiti.

- Demonstrate to decision makers in Haiti that together Haitians overseas
embody a vital social and political sector that encompass an array of
competencies, experiences and resources and are capable of having a
profound positive and constructive impact on Haiti's future.

- Advocate for a redefinition of the Haitian government's relationship with
the millions of Haitians living abroad. To encourage the government to take
concrete steps toward including overseas communities in the task of
crafting a sustainable future for Haiti

- Assure Haitian communities overseas be considered as full partners in the
socio-economic and political development processes of the country.

- Promote economic reforms that include major investment in micro, small,
and medium-sized businesses, the strengthening and reorienting of the
national tourism & hospitality sector.

- Ensure that economic progress is accompanied by parallel improvements in
social services and infrastructure.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Strategies
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::
- Create the infrastructure for an ongoing transnational dialog between
Haitians, and persons of Haitian descent and Heritage residing overseas and
those residing in Haiti. In order for Haitians overseas to solidify their
base both in Haiti and in the communities in which they reside, there is a
need for an ongoing dialog between those individuals and institutions based
overseas and those based in Haiti. The Haitian communities overseas can
express a concerted, focused and forceful voice in Port-au-Prince and other
capitals on critical policy issues and programs that affect their lives.

- Develop the channel, media, and bridge enabling pro-active participation
of Haitians overseas in Haiti's future through innovative programs and
initiatives, enabling the "Brain Gain" represented by the Diaspora to be
put to positive, constructive contribution to the national cause.

- Nurture and promote the philosophy that all Haitians, born in Haiti or
overseas of Haitian descent and Heritage, are Haitians: "Moun Lakay"; and
as such be considered full-fledged members of the Haitian family, nation
and citizenry, regardless of current place of residence or nationality. We
believe in a sharing of the national destiny between all Haitians.
