25063: Saint-Vil: (response) Saint-Vil: Duvalier's continued freedom (fwd)

From: Jean Saint-Vil <jafrikayiti@hotmail.com>

Phillips asked:

"Why has Jean-Claude Duvalier never been tried, either by an international
court"...

Because there is to this day no "international court" capable of judging
U.S. allied dictators. Whether it is Pinochet or Duvalier, they did not act
without untouchable accomplices.

"... or a Haitian court for the crimes he committed while Dictator as the
stealing of public money and atrocities committed by the Tonton Macoutes?"

Because since 1986, the Haitian Justice system has been functionning under
the constant attacks of "the sherriff" described in Bob Marley song...."
every time I plant a seed, he says kill it before it grows"..

The decision to annull the Raboteau trial is only the latest manifestation
of the sherriff's handy work.
The U.S. trained Duvaliers' Tonton Macoutes and Leopards. So, forget about
him being brought to "justice" in our lifetime.
