 thanks to everyone with the ideas on plating hardwoods.  By the way the

 Another project that the group I am with is working on is low cost
 housing.  One of the guys in the group is a builder.  He is experimenting
 with dense foam core building.  Such as is used in the decorative
 features on many building.  Also, this material is being us in
 constructing road sound barriers that is stuccoed over. It is very light
weight, cheap, and strong.

 He is working on a design for a small house that would be very
 inexpensive and might be manufactured in Haiti, again adding more jobs to
the local economy.   Please give some input
