When Aristide or others for whom English is a second or third language 
encounter a word they do not understand they would be well advised to consult a 
dictionary rather than a thesaurus. Reign, witness, coup, kidnapping, genocide, 
holocaust, democracy etc. all have settled well-established meanings. Of 
course, such persons are free to misuse these words among their own small 
circle, or bend them into a kind of Orwellian new speak, but they shouldn't 
thereafter complain that no one pays any attention to what they say.
