25932: Morse (ask)Brianhaiti and the folks at Harvard (fwd)

From: OLOFFSONRAM@aol.com

Dear Mr Brianhaiti and the folks at Harvard,

]I'm trying to understand your position: The gangs from Nazon, Belair, Cite
Soleil, killing, kidnapping, torturing people, these are the folks you want to

run the country? The ones who when A. was here were burning radio stations
and opposition headquarters. (2) You don't want the U. N. or the police to go

after these gangs? I admit we've had problems with this fractionalized police
force that was inherited from the Lavalas government but this attempt to make
a transition to Democracy is going to take time and a collective effort.
Isn't an election the best way to remove the 2 Latortues? You don't want to
prolong their stay do you? An election should have removed Mr A but he
couldn't

keep the country together long enough and he bailed. He did at one point ask
the U. S. to come and protect him but they denied his request. They had been
down that route before. Now Mr A's entourage is facing jail time on drug
charges and Mr A himself seems to have been diverting funds. Is that what you
want
for Haiti? How can you folks be fighting to defend a Narco state with security

provided by gangs with names such as <Cannibal Army> and <Rat pa kaka>. I'm
stunned. I would have expected more from Harvard. This is the Harvard from
Cambridge isn't it?
