From: Sajousp@aol.com

Aristide passed a law which gives the same rights to naturalized haitians as
haitians. The only limitations are the ones stated in the Constitution as to
the holding of certain public functions.

The irony behind all this, it is rumored that he fought very hard to keep
the 3 seats in the 2000 contested legislative elections to have a super
majority, albeit he was having a majority without them, to be able to amend
the

Constitution to allow naturalized haitians to run for President. If he was
successful I can imagine the uproar on this list from the same people who now
thinks it is ok for Simeus to run for President.
