As a person who failed the 6th grade exam (Certificat d'Etudes Primaires) and
who ended up working in academia and getting advanced degrees from one
Mid-western Big Ten and one East coast Ivy League school, I oppose the use of
the Certificat d'etudes Primaire for anything.
Test scores don't make people. All children deserve quality education.
The top 10% of a test score at the age of 10 or 12 has no correlation with
success in life or deserving special treatment. Exams in Haiti should be
eliminated.
They are a farce.
