I'm not sure how the United Nations decides which hotels they want to go  out
of business and which hotels they want to flourish but I do know when  it
comes to intelligence gathering, preparing for elections and dealing  with
sometimes up to 40 kidnappings a day the United Nations is totally  useless. I
suspect it's because they don't have the right people on the ground.  I suspect

it's because they're dealing with the same people that have  traditionally made

Haiti what Haiti is today. There's still time to turn it  around. Stop the
Haiti project from being a total fiasco, but I hope they learn  their lessons.

the way aren't most of these kidnappings happening in places  that the UN has
declared <safe>?
