27151: Jacques-Paquiot Constant (reply) Re: 27140 Haitian Presidents for Life (fwd)

From Jacques-Paquiot
Actually, only ONE (Nissage Saget) served his full term: Tiresias Simon
 Sam was elected
for a 7-year term on March 31, 1896 and resigned on May 12, 1902, ahead
 of his full
 mandate.

A "Comité de Salut Public" headed by Louis Boisrond Canal (brother of former Prez
Boisrond Canal) took over.

Stay tuned for the 1902 civil war.

---------

Of the 18 leaders who served in the 19th century only TWO served full term:
Nissage-Saget (1870-1874)
Tiresias Simon Sam (1896-1902)
