Jackson officials ask public's help in finding patient's family

The staff at Jackson Memorial Hospital hopes the public can help it find a lost family.

In a twist to the periodic missing-patient story that often makes the news, Jackson for more than five months has been caring for a woman who apparently knows her own name and age, but hasn't been able to provide information about her relatives.

The Haitian woman, described as having an ''altered mental state,'' has given her name as Felicia Aristide or Felicia Aristile, and her birthdate as Dec. 2, 1950, which would make her 55 years old.

She was found at 196 NW 95th St. in Miami on July 27, wearing a white sweater with orange stripes, white pants and worn black leather shoes with open backs. She was also wearing gold-colored earrings and necklace.

The woman is 5 feet 6 inches, and weighs about 135 pounds with a medium build. She has brown eyes and short black hair, with no distinguishing marks.

Anyone who might have information on this woman's relatives are asked to call Sonia Rivera at 305-355-7310 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
