This is not the first place I have read that there was a book found by the
body. This has been an extremely intriguing case and ought to be thought
about more thoroughly. There was a recent article out of Pretoria that
brought out the possiblity of a sniper attack. The article said there was a
possibilty of the attack being carried out by S. African mercenaries without
an ounce of proof. Despite the personal attacks being carried out between
Ives/ Simidor and those falling on both sides, the Haiti Progress article
brings out questions that are on everyone's minds, using only facts that
have been stated in articles from both Reuters and AP. It is certainly
worth keeping the dialogue going. Despite the political nature of Haiti
Progress, I have always found This Week in Haiti and the journalistic work
done by the paper and important voice that brings into the dialogue certain
information often overlooked. I look at much as I look at Democracy Now.
Often you have to take it with a grain of salt. Their reporting of Haiti
has often missed the mark, desipte much coverage. But I learn things there I
don't learn from the mainstream media. In trying to filter out the truth
it's always important to have a wide array of news sources, of which I think
Haiti Progress has been an important one.
