27630: Swenson (ask) Jean Baptiste Point de Sable, purported native of Haiti

From: "John F. Swenson" <swenson.john@comcast.net>

Jean Baptiste Point de Sable: This important trader, the founder of modern
Chicago, is supposed to have been born at St. Marc, Haiti, about 1745, the
son of an unknown French planter and an African slave woman. As his
biographer I seek documentation of this Haitian origin. After 20 years of
research in archives elsewhere, I have found no information, and welcome
reliable data from sources in Haiti. All publishable contributions will be
gratefully acknowledged.
